Close of entry for Winter Fair

03 November 2009

The closing date for entries to the 2009 Royal Ulster Winter Fair will be the 25th November at 5pm.

The Winter Fair, in association with Northern Bank, is Northern Ireland's premier indoor event in the dairy farming calendar.  The Fair will take place on December 10th at the King's Hall Complex, Belfast.

Cattle entries are open for Dairy Shorthorn, Jersey, Ayrshire and Holstein breeds. The showmanship entries will be based on the following age categories: novice and junior (under 12 yrs), intermediate (13 to 15 yrs), senior (16 to 20 yrs) and mature (21 to 26 yrs).

Karen Hughes, RUAS said, "Last year we successfully encouraged livestock exhibitors to make their entries online and we hope that they continue to do so this year. It's a very simple process, simply log on to www.winterfair.org, click the 'Enter Online' button and follow the instructions."

The Prize Schedule for the 24th Winter Fair is now available for those wishing to enter their dairy cattle into this year's Winter Fair.
