The Motorcycle Festival 2010

Welcome to our press launch for the 2010 Motorcycle Festival which will run for three days Friday 12 to
Sunday 14 February under the title of "The Adelaide Motorcycle Festival" at the King's Hall, Belfast.
This promises to be a special St Valentine's weekend for biking buffs anxious to catch a glimpse of the latest
models during the only Mototcycle Festival in Ireland in 2010.
For Nutt Promotions this will be their 15th motorcycle show/festival and their fourth year at the King's Hall
complex.
"Following the success of the 2009 Festival we were able to put money back into the sport in the form of
sponsorship for off-road, short circuit and karting events," explained Festival promoter Billy Nutt.
Today, we would like to welcome Lancashire's John McGuinness, 15-times an Isle of Man TT winner and lap
record holder, as our chief guest.
It's not widely known but John's grandfather was originally from Belfast!
Adelaide Insurance Services, Northern Ireland's long-standing premier motorcycle insurance broker - now
UK-wide and in the Republic of Ireland, are back as our festival sponsors for the sixth successive year.
Their Director and biking enthusiast Sam Geddis said, "We've such confidence in this event and so for the
first time we've agreed to invest in it for the next three years, rather than renewing the sponsorship annually."
"Another first for us is the title sponsorship of the premier awards ceremony for motorcycle racing stars on 15
Jan 2010 - "The Adelaide Racer Awards."
"Bikers can also look forward to the "Adelaide International Kells Road Races" on Saturday 17 and Sunday
18 July 2010."
Nutt went on, "For the 2010 motorcycle festival we are pleased with the response we are having from the
manufacturers and dealers. The exhibitors so far include Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Triumph, KTM
Harley-Davidson and Ducati. This is encouraging given the present economic climate."

motorcycle trade can afford to miss."
MOTORCYCLEFESTIVAL '10
Motorcycle safety is important to all associated with the festival and the PSNI will have a stand promoting their
Bike Safe Campaign which all bikers, young and old, are encouraged to get involved with.
Joining forces with the PSNI will be the IAM, the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
David Hailwood along with Ron Mullan will be making a welcome return with some very special bikes,
including a Ducati, as raced by the legendary Mike Hailwood.
For the second time we will be have the 2&4 Wheel Motorsport Steering Group which takes account of
motorcycle racing, both on and off-road, karts and quads.
This group is today represented by their chairman Alan Drysdale who is a well known race commentator.
Details of how to get involved with motorsport will be available at their stand.
For the first time the King's Hall balcony will host the vintage and classic motorcycle displays as well as the
popular autojumble. Chopper motorcycles and scooters will also be allocated space on the balcony.
Thanks to the involvement of Speed-Merchants (Leslie Moore) in conjunction with Duke Marketing there will
be regular video shows.
In the run-up to the festival we will be announcing more details of the stars who will be in attendance along
with other attractions.
This is one motorcycle festival not to be missed. So put the following dates and times into your diary. The
Festival will open on Friday 12th February from 2pm to 10pm and continues on Saturday 13th and Sunday
14th from 10am to 5pm.
Throughout the three days stars from the biking and karting worlds will mix with Festival visitors. There will
also be regular chat-shows hosted by Geoff McMullen and George McCann.
